ATCO has operated for more than 70 years in over 100 countries, including more than half a century in Australia. They develop, build, own and operate energy and infrastructure assets across the country. This partnership between Inspire Travel Management and ATCO was born from ATCO’s desire to procure services from Indigenous businesses, especially those whose mission involves providing employment pathways for Indigenous people. This procurement policy is demonstrated in ATCO’s recently launched inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in Australia. Thanks must also be given to Supply Nation for its tireless work on the Indigenous enterprise procurement front and for being the catalyst for this partnership. Pat Creaghan, ATCO’s Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer in Australia, was incredibly positive about this landmark agreement and showed genuine passion for Indigenous self-determination through employment opportunities. “As a company we recognise that we are in a privileged position to be able to conduct our business on lands traditionally occupied by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,” said Mr Creaghan. “The development of our first RAP was an opportunity to formalise our commitments and contributions to the broader Reconciliation conversation.
